For the last five years David Leathem has been studying Sports Management at the University of South Alabama. He gained a golf scholarship to attend the university in 2007 and since then has been playing for the South Alabama Jaguars men's golf team.
Since he was 12, all David dreamed of doing was playing golf. In 2006 he won the Irish Youth's Joe Carr Order of Merit and playing off a handicap of plus two was scouted by South Alabama coach Ben Hannan whilst playing in the North of Ireland Championship and offered a scholarship at the University based in Mobile Alabama.
Graduation day is 12th May 2012 and at the beginning of June David will turn Pro and begin his life as a professional golfer.
Thinking about the future David said "Its a very exciting time for me. It's what i've worked so hard for all these years but its just the beginning. There is still an awful lot to learn and there is a lot of talent all trying to climb the professional ladder to try to get a place on the US PGA tour. Thats the ultimate aim".

Thanks for taking time to look at my website. I really appreciate all the help and encouragement from everyone.
My plan is to keep everyone updated on my progress, through this web site and Twitter, as I compete in various tournaments.
I hope that you and others will be part of my journey through golf.
